This washed lime free graded grit sand is ideal for potting compost, improving heavy soils, cacti and succulents, and for alpines and rock plants. Mixing Horticultural Grit Sand to compost to prevent waterlogging and recreate the plants natural habitat.
- Adding Grit Sand to small areas of clay soil to improve drainage and aeration.
- A great planting mix for alpine or rock gardens is on part loam to one part Horticultural Grit Sand and one part leaf mould or coir.
